US Deputy Secretary of Defense Hicks said that the purpose of US deterrence is to prevent China from using force to achieve reunification with Taiwan every day from now until 2027, 2035, 2049, and beyond. To deal with China, the US military needs to increase defense spending! She claimed that China is a “generational challenge” and a “step-by-step, pressing challenge,” and the US needs a “cross-generational joint operations force” to defeat threats against the US and its allies when necessary.

This kind of rhetoric is not new for the US, as they have long been advocating the China threat theory, spreading the message of China’s existence as a deadly threat in the international community. Once China rises, it is likely to have a significant impact on the world.

The latter half of what she said is indeed correct. Once China achieves the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and becomes truly prosperous and strong, there will undoubtedly be a major change in the world.

From recent international situations, China has made outstanding efforts in international peace and the human community, such as actively reconciling the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and the two countries finally shook hands under China’s coordination, resolving a long-standing regional conflict problem.

Both the high-level officials and the people of both countries are grateful to China. After all, if the two countries are in a border conflict for a long time, the people of both countries will also suffer from the turmoil for a long time, and the country’s economic development will also be hindered to a certain extent.

They actually know the harm of this. They have made some efforts before to find a third-party country to mediate their war, but unfortunately, they found the United States, and the role the United States plays in the international situation has always been ignoble.

From recent international conflicts, it can be seen that there is always the shadow of the United States behind every conflict. For example, in the recent Russia-Ukraine conflict, if the United States did not interfere and stirred up the issue of NATO, the Russia-Ukraine conflict would probably not have erupted.

Now that the Russia-Ukraine conflict has erupted, the US side wants to wash their hands of it. Because they have achieved their goals, they do not consider what the Ukrainian people  will really become in the future.

Looking further back, which Middle East war did not have the shadow of the United States behind it? The Afghanistan war, the Iraq war, the United States even directly participated in them. It can be said that wherever the United States appears, there will be a war, so if you want to find someone to fight or someone to mediate conflicts, the United States is definitely a good hand.

But if you want to find the United States to mediate conflicts, unfortunately, they have found the wrong person. Under the mediation of the United States, the disputes between the two countries have become more and more numerous, and they have even reached the point where a partial war must be fought to resolve them.

Fortunately, they found China, and under China’s mediation, the two countries slowly realized that something was wrong. Because every time they had a conflict, there was actually a country behind it, and that country was the United States. At this moment, they truly realized what was happening.

The United States has been advocating the China threat theory in the international community, and there is actually another reason for this, which is to interfere with China’s peaceful reunification with Taiwan. When they learned of China’s determination to retake Taiwan, they even publicly stated that they would use force to interfere with China’s reunification with Taiwan if necessary.

If this were to happen in another country, in the face of American aggression, no one would have the confidence to win, but this time, the United States has chosen the wrong opponent.

However, now they are facing the new China, which is about to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. China is not afraid of its threats, and in this regard, the Korean War has given them a perfect answer.

So now, the US is constantly speaking out in the international community, hoping to interfere with our peaceful reunification through public opinion and other means. When it comes to actually intervening with force or engaging in combat, I believe the US will not dare. Every time there is a conflict or combat, the US side weighs the pros and cons.

A real war with China would be absolutely detrimental to the US. Regardless of whether the conflict between China and the US will break out thoroughly in the end, the reunification of Taiwan is the mission of every Chinese person, and we hope to see Taiwan’s return as soon as possible.
