US-China Relations Updates

During a press conference, US National Security Advisor Sullivan stated two reasons why the US has not lifted sanctions on China’s Defence Minister. Firstly, apart from ministerial-level officials, there are many senior officials in the Chinese military who have not been sanctioned by the US, and the US has not engaged in dialogue with them. Secondly, many people within the US government have also been sanctioned by Russia, but this has not prevented the US from engaging in dialogue with Russia.

He called for China to learn from the US’s approach for global stability and security.

It sounds like a form of coercion! The implication is that should the US continue to impose sanctions on other military officials, it would be like “hitting you while also asking you to plead for mercy!” This is nothing but coercive diplomacy.

So far，China’s message is clear，in order to have military conversation，US must life the sanction against China ‘s Defence Minister first！
